The Corduroy Come Back
If you’ve been in any of the shops recently you’ll definitely of seen plenty of corduroy! What an incredible come back! Corduroy has been made cool again! Normally when I think of cord I think of my Granddad’s christmas trousers back when I was kid. High waisted straight legged trousers with his shirt tucked in. Not a bad look for an old guy but can us 20 something year olds really pull off this old trend? The answer is YES!
Trousers, blazers, suits, I’ll have the lot! Here is how you can style up cord to make it cool again!
I. Cord Blazer
This was my first corduroy purchase and I have no regrets at all! Here I’ve worn it pretty casual but you can easily dress this jacket up. It’s actually one of my favourite blazers, so easy to throw over any outfit! But I am a sucker for buying things oversized, so if you want this look go for a few sizes bigger than you normally get - think mines a 14. Or of course you can go for a more fitted look and buy it true to size.

II. Cord Flares
This look was inspired buy a girl who walked past me on while I was on my way to work one morning (I really wish I told her how great she looked) She was wearing black cord flared and a black leather shirt with heeled boots and I loved everything about her look! So when I came across these cord numbers in Topshop I just couldn’t resist! I’ve styled mine with chunky boots and leather jacket for a more casual look. Definitely feeling the monochrome vibes though!

III. Cord Suit
I can’t even deal with how much I love a good suit! I noticed that my Mango blazer had a matching pair of trousers so naturally I had to indulge in the full outfit. And then I stubbled across this lilac number in Primark. It’s such a nice colour and such a good price, I still can’t get over it! Here I’ve worn them both with a simple white shirt underneath but you could easily wear a graphic tee for casual vibes or why not try buttoning up the jacket without a top underneath. Great look for any evening occasion!

IV. Cord Trousers
So these are then Granddad style trousers I was telling you about. High waisted straight legs. But I’m convinced they are cool! I love this colour it is so autumnal so perfect for this time of year! Style with a chunky knitted jumper or add some fur for an extra cosy look!
